If you disagree with an assessment result or require updated documentation:
- Informal Application Review Fee: A$335.00 (excl. GST) / A$368.50 (incl. GST). Must be requested within 3 months of outcome date.
- Formal Assessment Appeal Fee: A$640.00 (excl. GST) / A$704.00 (incl. GST). Must be requested within 6 months of review decision.
- Updated Outcome Letter Fee: A$165.00 (excl. GST) / A$181.50 (incl. GST).
- Standard Administration / Cancellation Charge: A$165.00 (excl. GST) / A$181.50 (incl. GST).
4. Official Processing Timeframes (Assessor Allocation Target)
Engineers Australia guidance provides the following current official assessor allocation target timeframes:
- Standard MSA Applications: Approximately 15 weeks to be assigned to an assessor.
- Fast Track Applications: Approximately 20 business days to be assigned to an assessor.
5. Taxes and Refund Terms
GST Policy: Goods and Services Tax (10% GST) applies if you reside inside Australia when submitting payment. Overseas applicants pay the Excl. GST amount.
Official Refund Terms: Review and Appeal fees may be refunded by Engineers Australia if the process results in your original outcome being upgraded/overturned and no additional documentation was supplied during the review.
6. Fast Track service explained
Fast Track is an optional paid service that moves your application up the queue, with a target of assessor allocation within about 20 business days instead of about 15 weeks.
- What it speeds up: the time until an assessor picks up your application.
- What it does not guarantee: a final outcome within 20 days. If the assessor asks for more information, the clock depends on how quickly you reply.
- Fee (2026–2027): A$360.00 excluding GST, or A$396.00 including GST.
- When it is worth it: when a visa invitation round, age deadline or English test expiry makes the standard wait risky.
