Engineers Australia Review and Appeal: Fees & Deadlines (2026–2027)

Timeline of the Engineers Australia two-tier process: outcome letter, review within three months for $368.50, then appeal within six months for $704

If you receive an unsatisfactory outcome from your Engineers Australia Migration Skills Assessment (MSA), official mechanisms exist to have your application independently reviewed or formally appealed.

1. Informal Application Review

An informal review allows an independent senior assessor to re-evaluate your original submission without requiring a full re-application.

  • Submission Deadline: Must be lodged within 3 months of your original outcome letter date.
  • Current Review Fee (2026–2027): A$335.00 (excl. GST) / A$368.50 (incl. GST).
  • Processing Timeframe: Informal review decisions depend on assessor allocation and verification.

2. Formal Assessment Appeal

If your application review does not yield your desired outcome, you may lodge a formal appeal for an independent panel review.

  • Submission Deadline: Must be lodged within 6 months of your review outcome. An appeal can only be lodged after an informal review has been completed.
  • Current Appeal Fee (2026–2027): A$640.00 (excl. GST) / A$704.00 (incl. GST).
  • Final Decision: The decision of the Appeal Board is final.

3. Refund Terms for Reviews & Appeals

Engineers Australia will refund your Review or Appeal fee if the process results in your original assessment outcome being overturned or upgraded, provided you did not submit additional documentation during the review process.
